Homeless!?!?!?!

If you read my last blog, you'll see that my family has been busy packing and moving. The latest news is that we have officially moved out of our house.

So, now we are homeless... not quite. It is true that we don't have a "home", not a house, at the moment. We are currently staying at a friend of my folks' house. Meaning, we have a house to stay in, but it's not home.

How does it feel to have finally moved out? To be honest, I still don't have time to think about it. I guess it will only sink in later. Am I sad? I don't know, I think I'm just happy to get this over and done with. I guess I'm ready to move on, afterall there is really nothing much left here in South Africa for me. I sound pessimistic?! Well, I have my reason to be. I've begin to realise more and more that this country is actually not so culturally diverse friendly. Sure, it's got all these diverse cultures, but people at times are really not open to other cultures.

Anyways, this is a whole new topic for another day. This is all for now... cheers!

Packing, packing, packing... MOVING!!!

After living in South Africa for 10 years, my family has decided to move again. This time we are moving back to where we came from - Taiwan.

It is always such headaches when it comes to moving. Yes! The amount of packing involved, it is unbelievable. You see, after living in the same place for 10 years, it is not only memories that have been collected... there are things, and things, and more things that got collected over the years!!!

I mean clothes, books, appliances (working or not), and things! Things that you were given, things you bought. Be it brand new, second-hand, in working order or broken. Most of all... my NOTES! So far I've thrown away roughly 4 to 5 boxes of old notes that I've collected over the years, i.e from high school, to niversity, to post-grad study. And there seems no end to this. As soon as I think something is done, I find more... This week is books, next week is clothes, the following week...

Whoever said "Living out of a suitcase"... I really envy that now. But then I guess one only have the "luxury" of living out of a suitcase by permanently living in a hotel room, aka room service!
